APEX Launches Wall Controller for Installation Amplifiers

APEX has unveiled a much-requested wall plate control option for its CloudPower installation amplifiers.
ACW-05 is a networked 4” touchscreen controller, designed to offer intuitive audio control for non-technical operators in applications such as education, retail, hospitality, fitness, conferencing, and beyond. In addition to simple volume control, mutes, and source selection, ACW-05 has an integral Bluetooth input, allowing BYOD (bring your own device) capability.
Systems integrators can quickly configure the wall plates remotely from any device with a web browser via the ACW Manager WebUI. Each controller can access any number of APEX CloudPower amplifiers on the same network over WiFi or Ethernet. Audio zones can be created using channels from multiple amplifiers. ACW-05 may be PoE or AC mains powered and fits into standard US and EU wall boxes.
“Providing end users with simple audio control has been at the top of the wish list for CloudPower distributors and SIs for some time,” reveals APEX Product Director, Martin Andersson. “ACW-05 makes CloudPower a compelling option for projects that need hands-on operation but don’t have the requirement or budget for a more complex DSP or AV control system. We designed the UI to be used by anyone, with no training required. The addition of a Bluetooth input is an elegant solution for everyday scenarios like a fitness instructor or educator needing to send audio from their phone to a gym or classroom. The ability to power the controller using AC voltage within existing wall boxes while transferring data over WiFi also makes this a straightforward retrofit to any installation.”
The new wall plate is compatible with the full CloudPower amplifier range and will be shared by forthcoming APEX amp series. ACW-05 makes its world debut at Integrated Systems Europe 2025 on booth 7F900.
